4 For as in one body we have many members, and not all the members have the same function, 5 so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually we are members one of another.
As I was researching and planning worship for this Sunday I came across the following video (link below) that I thought summed up so much about what it means to be the Church of Christ in the world. We know that the Church is not a building, and yet sometimes we struggle to identify exactly what it means to be the Church.
During COVID-19 as we are kept from gathering in our building, I think we are gaining greater clarity about what the Church is and how we are called to live. Without some of our traditional “trappings” we are able to recognize the places into which Jesus calls us to serve one another. While some are concerned that churches will close and things will not ever be the same, I look forward with hope to see how the Church and individual congregations will rise into new life.
