Trinity Groups

Choir: Music at Trinity is an integral part of the worship service. The congregation sings both traditional and contemporary hymns. Our phenomenal guitarist, Ken Archer, brings new life and energy to the hymns. We are blessed with a dedicated and talented choir which performs four-part choral anthems, on a regular basis. We often feature vocal and instrumental soloists from our congregation.

Consider joining the choir! We meet on Wednesday nights from 8-9pm in the music room from September to June.

If you have a musical talent to share, let Susan Barta know!

Trinity Church Mice Stained Glass: For many years, this dedicated group of artisans, Trinity’s Church Mice, has been involved in a labour of love creating, designing and producing stained-glass works of art. Such works have brought not only a personal satisfaction to the group but also to so many who searched for a piece of stained glass that holds meaning and brings happiness to them. Repair work has become a service they offer by restoring treasured pieces back to their original beauty. Proceeds from the sale of their stained-glass items has enabled the group to donate to worthy causes such as: the Salvation Army, Operation Sharing, Ingamo, Interchurch and individuals in need. The group continues to meet weekly, barring such emergencies as COVID-19, as a group of friends dedicated to helping others. They are most grateful to Trinity for providing a dedicated space in which to work every Wednesday morning.

Trinity Soul Sisters: This is a social group comprised of working women from Trinity United Church who gather once a month to share in some fun. Each month a designated member plans the event and it is posted on our members-only Facebook page and an email is sent out to all members. The day and time of each event is determined by the planning member and others can join or not as their schedule and interest allows. We have done everything from axe throwing to pyjama movie nights, pool parties to walks in the woods, drumming yoga to scavenger hunts. It’s a great chance for us to connect, make new friendships and form bonds of faith and fellowship without the pressure of having to attend each monthly event. Once a year we host a fundraising event for the church that brings together our different talents. If you are interested in joining this wonderful group of women, email Leeyan Steinthorson at lkuyt@aol.com or call the church office.

UCW: The women of Trinity meet on the second Tuesday of month at 1:30pm in parlour. Topics each month are determined by the members in charge of the month’s meeting and have included travel slideshows, guest speakers, and outings to local theatres. All meetings include a light lunch and devotional. Contact the church office for further details.

Yoga: Barb Emms has been offering Hatha yoga classes at Trinity United Church for the past 12 years. These classes build upon the student’s physical and subtle body awareness, while also increasing strength and flexibility. Barb’s gentle approach towards postures and breath-work contribute to the student’s greater sense of centeredness and self-knowing. Classes are held Tuesday afternoons from 1:30-2:45 pm in the comfortable yoga/meditation room upstairs. No previous yoga experience necessary. Barb can be reached through the church office.

The Gathering: join us every Wednesday morning at 10am in the Parlour for casual conversation and a time of social fellowship.  All are welcome to join in, enjoy a hot drink, and a cookie. Spend some time making new friends or catching up with friends you already know. We look forward to getting to know you better.
