Psalm 118:24
24 This is the day that the Lord has made;
let us rejoice and be glad in it.[a]
Reflection
THIS. THIS is the day that the Lord has made.
Sometimes we take that for granted.
We live each day, not knowing what the day will bring. Today there will births. There will be deaths. Some will heal while others get news that will change their lives. Jobs will be lost and someone will get their very first job. Anniversaries will be celebrated. Houses will be bought and sold, while some sleep rough or wonder where they will sleep. Guns will be fired. Gardens will be planted. It’s true that we never know what the day will bring.
What we do know is that THIS is the day that the Lord has made. Let’s make it count. Let’s treasure it. Let’s give thanks for THIS day as we remember that God is with us in all of the experiences that we may have today.
This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it!
Prayer
God, today I pray for all who might read this Worship Moment – that their day might be one filled with wonder and hope as they feel your presence. I pray that for those for whom this day is difficult, you might reveal yourself to them and embrace them in your love. Amen.
